Explain the action of dilute hydrochloric acid on the following with chemical equation. a) Zn metal b) sodium hydroxide

In first case, Zinc metal will form a chloride salt and hydrogen gas will be released.

In second case, it's a neutralisation reaction as we have NaOH as base. It will form a salt (NaCl) and water.
