Advantages

1. Among the

basic flip-flops the J-K flip-flop is the most versatile.

2. It has two

inputs which are labelled as J and K. If J and K are not the same then the

output Q takes the value of J at the next clock edge.

3. It is an

improved variation of the SR Flipflop.

Disadvantages

1. Spikes can

appear on the output.

2. An unstable

state occurs when both J and K inputs are logic '0'
