Reflection of sound has the following advantages and disadvantages.

:Advantages:

The reflection of sound is used in many devices as the megaphones , the horns , the musical instruments like the trumpet , the shehnais , etc , The ceilings of the cinema halls and the auditoriums are curved so that the sound after multiple reflection reaches all parts of the hall .

Doctors listen to the sounds from the human body through a stethoscope which is used to hear the sounds of internal organs of a patient for the diagnostic purposes .

:Disadvantages:

If a room has about nearly no any sound absorbing surfaces like wall, roof and the floor, the sound is said to bounce back between the surfaces and also it takes a very long time as the sound dies. In such a room, the listener will then have a problem for registering the speaker. This is because he tends to hears both the direct sound as well as the repeated reflected sound waves. And also if these reverberations will be more excessive, the sound is said to run together with a mere loss of articulation, and it becomes muddy and also garbled.

Hope you liked it.
