explain the advantages of connecting electrical devices in parallel with the battery instead of connecting them in series ?

Advantages..

1)***Parallel Circuits have the same potential difference throughout the circuit . Thus the voltage remains same for every appliance in the circuit .As a result the appliances work efficiently

2) ***In parallel combination the equivalent resistance is always less than the individual resistances as it is the sum of reciprocals of individual resistances..

3) ***As the equivalent always decrease i n parallel combination thus more current flows throught the circuit (because resistance is inversaly proportional to electric current )

4)***If one appliance/resistor is fused in parallel combination it does not effects other appliances or resistors and current continues to flow through the other resistors..

5)***It will also result in less consumption of power which is more economical..
