Extended Family. The extended familystructure consists of two or more adults who are related, either by blood or marriage, living in the same home. ... Many extended families include cousins, aunts or uncles and grandparents living together.

Definition of joint family. : a consanguineal family unit that includes two or more generations of kindred related through either the paternal or maternal line who maintain a common residence and are subject to common social, economic, and religious regulations.

nuclear family, elementary family or conjugal family is a family group consisting of two parents and their children (one or more). It is in contrast to a single-parent family, to the larger extended family, and to a family with more than two parents.

There are mainly two types of families. They are nuclear and joint family.
Nuclear family is a small family. It has a mother , father and one or more children. It is a close-knit family in which everyone takes care of each other.
Joint family is a large family. The grandparents , parents and children live together. In some joint families , uncles , aunts and their children also live together. Children by such families are never lonely , every member does his/her share of work.
