Flow of charge is known as the current.As we know that the accumulation of electrons in the negative terminal of a battery creates a negative potential (low potential), and the deficiency of electrons in the positive terminal creates a positive potential (high potential). Hence, electrons flow from low potential to high potential and and current flows from high to low potential.
And in case of free fall under gravity,a body falls from a height to the ground and the direction is from high potential energy to low.
