Since bd:dc=1:1 therefore bd:bc=1:2
In triangle bde and triangle bce
=>Angle BDE=angle BCA
=>angle B= angle B (common angle)
Therefore, triangle bde is similar to the triangle
Since ratio of areas of two similar triangles is equal to ratio of square their corresponding sides.
Area of triangle bde/area of triangle Bca=bd²/bc²
Ratio of areas is =1:4
