As two triangles are similar , the sides are proportional. So, draw perpendicular to any of the sides of the two triangles which are the altitudes. Put the area formula of triangles i.e. 1/2 base x height . But do not forget to make the small triangles formed by the perpendicular similar by AA criterion. You'll find the ratio of altitude is same as of its base. Put this in the previous ratio. N the THEOREM IS PROVED!
