Explanation:

The Greek philosopher Aristotle, asserted that the basic nature of a body is of “Rest”. Because of this, every body in motion tends to slow down and comes to rest. An external force is necessary to maintain its motion. But this is not right reason behind stopping of motion of a body. The right answer was given by Galileo Galilee that there is always a forces like friction, air resistance, viscous force etc acts on a body to oppose it’s motion. Therefor to overcome(or cancel out) these forces we have to apply an external forces continuously to the body. if there were no friction, we do not have any need for applying force. So, Aristotle were proven wrong that body stops its motion because of frictional force, not because of its basic nature of Rest. so it is called “Aristotle’s Fallacy”
