Mahatma Gandhi started civil disobedience movement in 1930with famous dandi March and salt satyagraha. this movement continued upto 1934. in 1935, the new act called the government of India act 1935, came into operation. according to this act, provincial autonomy was introduced and it 1937 election was held. the Congress party formed ministries in seven out of eleven provinces. the Congress ministries worked successfully and welfare schemes were taken up.
