Explain the basic aim of setting fair price shops under PDS

Basic aims-

• Public distribution system comes under government policy where food materials are distributed among poor people at affordable prices.
• This fair price shops have a store of wheat, rice, sugar, oil, kerosene oil, flour and other important cooking stuff. These food items are sold only to poor people at the lowest price which is sold to normal people at high price in market.
• Those who come under below poverty low are provided with card called as ration card under this PDS system.
