Sher Singh
he is just a twelve years old boy, but he proves himself to be the brave, bold, self sacrificing, fearless and courageous son of a brave father by his daunting task.
from the way he tries to help his mother nurse his Ailing brother Kunwar, it is clear that he is obedient and dutiful.
he encounters a cobra on the way, but as he withdraws a step or two cautiously, it disappears into the grass. when he sits down with his brother on a cliff to have some rest, a tuskers trunk come round towards the boys.
suddenly it snorts and runs away. he breathes a prayer of thanks and moves on.
then he crosses a river easily. the second river is in flood with a bamboo bridge washed away. he uses his jungle knowledge, ties his brother with a rope and crosses the river inch by inch, holding on the splinters of bamboo, and other things.
he bears the respect of all those who come to know about his mission. when the doctor announces that his brother is safe, he feels happy and relaxed. thus, by his courageous deed he saves a precious life. he is indeed a brave son of a brave father
