- the Brahmaputra rises from the snout of the Chemayungdung glacier of the Kailash range near Manasarovar...
- it flows eastwards through southern Tibet
- near Lhotse Dzong, it opens out into a wide navigable channel for about 640 kms
- thereafter, the river breaaks through a succession of rapids
- it enters ina great loop southwest through Arunanchal Pradesh in India,,,,first as the Siang and then as the Dihang
- Emerging into the Assam valley, it is joined by the two tributaries....THE DIBANG AND THE LOHIT
