Hello Mate

Here is what you need

The first step is the breakdown of glucose six carbon molecule into three carbon molecule called pyruvate. This happens in cytoplasm.

1 The pyruvate may be converted into ethanol , carbon dioxide and 2 ATP. This takes place in yesterday during fermentation and as it happens under absence of oxygen it is anaerobic respiration.

2 The pyruvate may also give out lactic acid and ATP. This happens in our muscle cells and under low oxygen.

3 The break pyruvate using full oxygen takes place in mitochondria. This process produces carbon dioxide, water and 36 ATP.
