Hey bro,

in the very first stage glucose which is  a 6 carbon molecule is broken into pyruvate which is a 3 carbon molecule in thecytoplasm
after that they are broken down by 3 different pathways to release energy
1) in absence of Oxygen in yeast,
2)in lack of oxygen in humans muscles and
3) in presence of O2 in mitocondria

hope i helped u
mrk as brainliest

Glucose which is a 6 carbon molecule is first broken down into pyruvate (3 carbon molecule) in the cytoplasm. Pyruvate has three pathways of breakdown.

1) With the absence of oxygen in yeast.
The products are- ethanol, carbon dioxide and energy

2) with the lack of oxygen in human muscle cells. (This causes cramps)
The products are lactic acid and energy.

3) with the presence of oxygen in mitochondria.
The products are carbon dioxide, water and energy
