carbon is found in various form on the earth .It occurs in the elements form as diamond and graphite. In the combined state it is found as carbon dioxide in the atmosphere as carbonate and hydrogen carbonate salts in various minerals while all life forms are based on carbon containing molecules like protein carbohydrates fats nucleic acid and vitamin
