Answer:
Friction is a force that resists the relative motion between two objects or materials. The causes of the resistive force of friction are: Molecular Adhesion. Surface Roughness. The interlocking of irregularities of the two surfaces opposes the motion of one object over the other and give rise to force of friction. Friction is caused by the interlocking of irregularities in the surface of two objects which are in contact with each other.Scientists are not completely sure what causes friction; however it is thought to be caused by the interactions between the tiny bumps on surfaces as they rub against each other. The bumps on each surface bend and exert a force on each other making it hard for the surfaces to slip over each other.
