Answer:

THE CAUSES OF FAILURE OF RAJPUTS

1. NO JOINT PLAN OF ACTION: The Rajput kingdoms were mostly not united. They never fought under one leader. It was easy for

Muslims to defeat them one by one.

2. OUTDATED STYLE OF INDIAN WARFARE: From the 10th century onwards, the armoured horsemen and the mounted archers became popular. The Turks had become adept in this new style of warfare while the Indians were not. They still depended on elephants and infantry.

3. NO NATIONAL CONSCIOUSNESS: The spirit of national consciousness in India was weak.

4. ABSENCE OF AN OUTSTANDING LEADER: Indians were fighting among themselves. India was divided into small independent states, so there was no outstanding leader to save the country.

Answer:

Rajputana empire was a medieval empire in the western part of India. Rajputs were the were the descendants of the kshatriya clan. Kshatriya clan was a clan of brave warriors who fought battles and had a great level of skills in warfare.

The causes of the defeat of the Rajput's was:

  • Lack of unity: The Rajputana Empire comprised of many small rajput kings and their own kingdoms. The rajput kings were very egotistical and arrogant in their honour that they didn't collaborated or co-operated with any other rajput kings.
  • Internal rivalry: These rajputs kings not only didn't co-operated with any other rajput kingdoms, some were at constant battles against each other to capture the other's kingdom.
  • Internal betrayals : When the Muslim invaders tried to invade the Rajputana Empire, some kings betrayed their own kind, the other rajput kings by sharing information and even their own army to to the Muslims.
  • Outdated military practices: The Rajput kings still used to follow outdated military warfare practices which was practiced by the kings of the Ancient Era like Rajput kings ordered their armies to stop fighting after sunset but the Muslim invaders didn't followed such rules.
  • Smaller Armies: Since the Rajputana Empire was disintegrated into small kingdoms which were not at par with each other, the number of men in the Armies of each Rajput kingdom was pretty less compared to the huge army of the Muslim invaders.
