Red blood cells are less complicated than white cells, like macrophages. They contain a protein that can carry oxygen to all cells in the body. The components of white blood cells, are organelles that are present in other cells, but their size and quantity vary. The endoplasmic reticulum is like a sac that was folded in zig-zag; the rough endoplasmic reticulum has organelles known as ribosomes, that produce proteins; they are found in the outer side of those squashed sacs; then, there are also mitochondria, the Golgi apparatus where proteins can be modified, stored and sent to where they’re needed. There are also the lysosomes, they are spherical organelles contained by a single layer membrane, though their size and shape varies to some extent. This membrane protects the rest of the cell from the harsh digestive enzymes contained in the lysosomes, which would otherwise cause significant damage. White blood cells contain also peroxisomes and the cytoskeleton.
