Hey There! This is a matter to be discussed now as all are really concerned about this revolutionary change in CBSE schools. So, let's begin...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quick Recap of Class 10 Till 2016-17 :
♦ There were 2 semesters & each semester ended with a SA exam.
♦ Students had to learn only 50% of the total syllabus for each of these exams which was out of 90 marks each.
♦ There were 4 Formative Assessments (FA) & tool assessments (projects) which helped students secure a huge percentage of the total marks (100).
♦ Each SA exam added 30% & each FA added 10%. That is 40% from 4 FAs & 60% from 2 SAs.
♦ There was Grade Up-gradation for any two subjects. [Eg : A2 ► A1]
♦ The Annual Report Card had only Grades.
Class 10 Now Onwards (2017-18) ...
♦ Students have to study 100% of the syllabus together.
♦ This learning will be tested by CBSE in a final exam out of 80 marks.
♦ This will be the only board exam for Class 10 from now & it will cover the entire syllabus.
♦ Schools are likely to conduct 3 exams namely ; Pre-Midterm, Midterm & Post-Midterm which will be also out of 80 marks & will cover everything taught just before that exam.
♦ Since Post-Midterm exam is close to final exam, it is likely to cover 95% of the total syllabus.
♦ Grade Up-gradation has been stopped.
♦ The Annual Report Card will have Grades & Marks.
♦ There won't be much weight-age to internal marks (projects, test papers,...)
♦ There will be ASL for optional languages too along with English ASL.
♦ Now out of 100% marks, 80% comes from final Board exam & 20% comes from internal assessment [10% from Midterm exams, 5% from ASL & 5% from other parameters like disciple & attitude].
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
♠ Sounds difficult, right? Don't worry! If you learn on a daily basis making a timetable, you'll sure be successful.
♠ Remember, "Procrastination leads to Disaster!"
♠ Be updated with your studies.
♠ Get your doubts clarified as soon as it arises.
♠ Be attentive in class & while learning at home.
♠ Practice Out of Text questions.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good Luck to all taking up this new adventure which is equally risky & thrilling. ☺☻☺
