As we go down in the same group, electronegativity decreases.
This is because it increases up to fluorine and decreases when coming down. Positively charged protons attract negatively charged electrons, thus as protons in the nucleus increases, the electronegativity/attraction also increases.
Therefore electronegativity increases when moving from left to right.
