In the medieval period, under the patronage of Muslim sultanates many styles of architecture, such as Persian, Central Asian, Arabic and pre-Islamic native Indian styles were blended together creating the Islamic architecture of India.
The characteristics of the Islamic architecture in India are:1) minaret = long vertical tower. Eg: Kuruba minor. 2) Domes= round-shaped upper structure eg. Gol gum as of Bijapur. 3) Arch = The pointed arch features a rounded design with a tapered apex at entrance of shrine.eg. Taj Mahal.
