The Muslim leaders were great patrons of art and architecture. They built numerous buildings in length and breadth of the country. The chief characteristics of Islamic Architecture in India are :

1. Construction of buildings on raised platform.The examples are Humayun Tomb, Taj Mahal etc.

2.  Use of Arch and Domes on scientific lines by radiating voussoirs like Jamia Masjid etc.
