The characteristics of North Indian plains are
1. They are formed by the deposition of alluvium soil by the rivers.
2.There are many facilities like settlement, transport, communication and other public facilities.
3. So, northern plains are densely populated.
4. It is divided into four zones on the basis of relief- Bhabhar, Tarai, Bangar and Khadar.
5. It is very fertile and ideal for agriculture.
