These are the most widespread forests in India.
They are also called the monsoon forests and are spread over the region.
They receive rainfall between 70 cm and 200 cm.
Trees shed their leaves for about six to eight weeks in dry summer.

The trees are green and survive only when the rainfall amount is between 70 -20 cm hence cannot survive it dry places .
