Answer:

Combustion: CH4+O2--> H2O +CO2+ HEAT

SUBSTITUTION: CH4 + Cl --> in presence of sunlight CH3Cl + HCL

Answer:

Combustion reaction:

CH4 +O2 ->(on heating) CO2 + H2O + Heat and light

Substitution reaction:

CH4 + Cl2 ->(sunlight) CH3Cl + HCl

Addition reaction is used to add hydrogen to unsaturated hydrocarbons. As methane is a saturated compound, it cannot be subjected to addition reaction.

Hope it helps.
