Answer:

in combustion reaction the hydrocarbon is burnt in oxygen,the hydrocarbon is oxygenated

in substitution reaction an atom or molecule take the place of other molecule or atom

for eg : when methane is burnt in oxygen it will produce carbon dioxide ,water, heat and light

eqn: CH4+O2----->CO2+H2O+heat and light

in substitution reaction, when methane is treated with oxygen it will produce chloromethane and hydrochloric acid.

eg: CH4+CL2--->CH3CL+HCL
