State means a association of people who live in a geographical area under the organised government and subject to no outside control
State is an institution to ensure law and order and maintain harmony of social relations.
Components of state :-
- Population :-A state without population is not possible .The population should be enough to be sustained by the resources of the country.
- Territory :-The possession of territory is necessary basis for all modern states.
- Government :-There can be no state without government . Government is the working of the state.It is the political organisation of the state
- Sovereignty:-The word sovereignty means supreme and final legal authority above and beyond there is no legal power exist
Origin of state :-
They opine that prior to the origin of state there was something called a golden age ,wherein the people enjoyed a life of piece,order ,self discipline and happiness
