Constituent Assembly was an elected body oraganised to frame the Constituent of free India.A total of 389 members,formed the Constituent Assembly. Out of these,292 members were from British India,93 from Princely States and 4 from Commissioner's Provinces. The first sitting of the Constituent Assembly was held on 9th December, 1946.
