In magnetic separation method the ore is placed on a rotating belt in which two wheels are there... The front one is magnetic so the ore particles which would be mettalic would remain stuck to the belt and fall after few distance whereas the gangue paticle which is not magnetic will fall there only. By this method iron ore is concentrated.
Its principal is - either the gangue particles or ore particle should be magnetic.
