Explain the concept of 20-point Programme, in detail.

The 20-point programme was set up by the Government of India in 1975 later restructured in 1982 and 1986.


It was finally on 1st April 2007 that the 20 point programme after being restructured became operational and Gujarat was among the first states to implement on it.


The 20-point programme includes measures to eradicate poverty, to reduce inequalities in income, to increase productivity and to reduce disparities arising out of social and economic structure of the country.
