◆ Just because democracy provides a good government, we can't expect it to give a government which will reduce poverty.
◆ Also, democracy has seriously brought about political equality, but we can also witness rising economic inequality.
◆ This is because principles like universal adult franchise can not be implemented in the economic sphere.
◆Also due to lack of equitable distribution of resources, a very small number of people enjoy a huge monopoly over the resources. Due to this poor people tend to become poorer and the rich tend to become richer.
◆ The worst condition regarding this concept is seen in some countries like Bangladesh, where they have to depend upon the richer countries for even the food grains.
