well lock adalats are like panchayats which was held in ancient times but now under Alternative Dispute Resolution , First Lok adalat was held in Gujarat March 1982.

Lok adalats have no lawyers the people can directly tell their grevience to the judge who might be a retired judge accompanied by a judge and a social worker.
