Answer:

Lok Adalath’s are established for the purpose of resolving disputes by litigants themselves in a amicable manner without going through prolonged and expensive court procedures for many years.

The concept of Lok adalath is to provide friendly environment to both parties of a particular case, to discuss themselves under the supervision of authorised officer of court and Settle their claims amicably.

In the said Lok Adalath proceedings, there is no judicial intervention and it is for the parties to settle their disputes and hence, this system is called People’s court.
