Explain the concept of LokAdalat? Why are they called people’s courts?

ANSWER: they have been given satutory status under the legal services authorities act 1987. in the said lok Adalat proceedings, there is no judicial intervention and it is for the parties to settle their desputes and hence, this system is called people's court. and lok Adalat is one of the alternative dispute resolution mechanism in India​
