explain the concept of reaction between acids and metal carbonates and metal bicarbonates

When acids and metal carbonates react,they form metallic salts ,carbondioxide gas and water.
When acids and metal bicarbonates react ,it again releases metallic salt, co2gas and water.
Thus acids gives the same reactant on reacting with both.
