There are three tires of govt. in our country which makes our country a federal country.
Union/Central Govt.- It is the govt. at the central level and is elected by the citizen of the whole country. It runs the whole country. It has powers such as the defense of the country, the foreign affairs, army, Law making, etc.
State Govt.- It is the govt. which rules over a state and is elected by the citizen of that particular state. It also has its own power and is subordinate with the central govt. IT has powers such as the police of the state, trade, agriculture etc.
Local Govt.- It is the govt. at the local level. There are different types of local govt. at- i)Rural Level-Village-gram panchayat, then gram sabha(for few villages) then mandal/block(few gram sabha) then the zilla parishad(for that particular district). ii)Urbal level- Small city or town-Municipality and Big Cities- Municipal Corporation
