Blue Revolution is the increased production of fish products. It was being implemented and started in India during the 1960s, along the same lines as Green Revolution and White Revolution. This refers to enhancement of fish production and availability in order to meet the higher protein requirement of the growing population. Due to increased fish farming and use of advanced techniques of catching fish, fish harvesting has made a tremendous jump of 6.84 million tones.
