The favourable conditions for ionic bonding are -

High charge on ions, large cation and small anion.

Explanation-

Ionic bond is formed by the complete transfer of one or more electrons from one atom to another.Higher the charge on the ions, greater is the force of attraction and hence larger in the amount of energy released.Electrostatic force of attraction will be high for large cation and small anions.

Answer:

Hey!

It is important to recognize that clean ionic bonding — in which one atom or molecule completely transfers an electron to another — cannot exist: all ionic compounds have some degree of covalent bonding, or electron sharing.
