Conditions which led to rise of Jacobins are :
(i) The revolutionary wars brought losses and economic difficulties to the people.
(ii) When the men were away, fighting at the front, women were left to cope with the tasks of earning a living and looking after their families.
(iii) Constitution of 1791 gave political rights only to the richer section of the society.

- THE JACOBINS WERE THE MOST INFLUENTIAL POLITICAL CLUB WHICH EMERGED PRIOR TO THE FRENCH REVOLUTION. IT BECAME. A RALLYING POINT FOR PEOPLE WHO WISHED TO DISCUSS GOVERNMENT POLICIES AND PLAN THEIR OWN FORMS OF ACTION. THEY PLAYED A VITIAL ROLE IN THE DOWNFALL OF THE FRENCH MONARCHY.
- DUE TO THEIR EFFORTS, THE PARISIAN ANGERED BY INFLATION AND FOOD SHORTAGES. THEY STORMED THE KING'S PALACE ON 10 AUGUST 1792. THE KING'S GAURD WERE MASSACRED AND THE ROYAL FAMILY IMPRISONED.
- ON 21ST SEPTEMBER 1792,THE CONVENTION ABOLISHED THE MONARCHY AND DECLARED FRANCE A REPUBLIC.
