1. When heat is transferred through vibration of particles then it is known as conduction. It needs a medium to transfer heat.

2. When heat is transferred through actual movement of particles then it is known as convection. It also needs a medium to transfer heat.

3. When heat is transferred directly then it is known as radiation. It don't need any medium to transfer heat.
