To cube a number, we use the number in a multiplication 3 times. A cube root goes the other direction. 3 cubed is 27, so the cube root of 27 is 3. The cube root of a number is the value that when cubed gives the original number.
We know that 3 × 3 × 3 = 27. Hence, 27 is called the cube of 3. While on the other hand, the cube root of a number is the reverse process of the cube of a number and is denoted by ∛ . Considering the same example, 3 is called the cube root of the number 27.
