explain the construction and working of an electric motor using a well labelled diagram.

When electric current passes through the rectangular coil, current produces magnetic field around coil. Magnetic field of horse shoe type magnet then interact with coil, cause coil to move continuously
If ABCD is the horizontal position current from battery enter from coil through bush and commutator half ring C the current flow in direction of ABCD
The direction of current is from A to B. The force AB is downward direction whereas force CD is upward direction
While rotating the coil reaches the vertical position, bushes will touch the gap between rings, the current to coil Cutts off but the coil doesn't stop because it has already gained momentum
The coil CD comes on left side and AB on right side again it comes in contact with bush. Current direction is reversed. The reversing takes place at every half hour so the coil continues to rotate, can drive large number of machines.

Electric Motor : Electric motor is the rotating device which convert electrical energy in to Mechanical energy. It is usually used in Mp3 player , Electric Fan , Electric Television e.t.c

Principal of Electric Motor : Electric Motor work on the principal that when a Rectangular wire is placed in magnetic field and current passed through it , A force act as a coil which rotate in continuously.

Working of Electric Motor : A Rectangular coil is in the horizontal position between two opposite poles of two powerful magnet on passing the switch current from battery it enters the coil through carbon 'P' and half ring x , A Rectangular coil A,B,C,D, current flow through it and leaves via ring 'Y'.
