 \bold{CALORIMETER}

▶Calorimeter have a cylinder vessel which is made up of thin sheet of copper .

▶The outer and inner surfaces that are alsilo made up of copper are polished to reduce loss of heat by radiation

▶To provide insulation its places in a wooden jacket and the space between wooden jacket and copper sheet is filled with wool or cotton to avoid heat by conduction.

▶Its covered with lid with two hole, one for thermometer and one for stirrer. is made up of wood to prevent heat loss by convection.

◼Copper is used in making its vessel because :-

▶Copper have low specific heat capacity , so takes up small amount of heat from substance.

▶It easily acquires temperature of the substance added as its a good conductor of heat and electricity.
