nucleus is the most prominent cell organell. The nucleus is the largest organelle of the cell. The nucleus appears to be dense, spherical organelle.  It occupies about 10% of the total volume of the cell. it is surrounded by nuclear membrane with some pores between them namely nuclear pores. it consists of nucleolus, chromatin material, chromosomes and fluid called nucleoplasm.

Nucleus is a most notable cell organelle of Eukaryotic cells.

Explanation:

The nucleus contains mainly 4 parts -

Nuclear membrane, nucleoplasm, nucleolus, nuclear reticulum.

  • Nuclear membrane or nuclear envelope- It contains two cellular membranes, nuclear pore, perinuclear space. One membranes is inner and another one is outer membrane.

Function-  It acts as a barrier  and  separates the cell's genetic material from cytoplasm.

  • Nucleoplasm – It is also known as Karyolymph or Nuclear sap. It is the liquid part of the nucleus.
  • Nucleolus- It is the dense part of the nucleus.

Function - The main function of nucleolus is synthesizing rRNA and assemble ribosomes.

  • Nuclear reticulum- it is also known as Chromatin threads. Chromosome is produced from nuclear reticulum at the time of cell division.
