This line makes the reader amused at the type of person Lencho was. When he found himself in an adverse situation, Lencho did not come up with a solution nor seek any help from fellow beings but directly relied on God to solve his problems. Lencho held onto a thin thread of hope, that God would help him. This makes the readers surprised at the existence of such a naive and unquestioning man with the lack of judgement about the actual physical existence of God.
