British government played a very important role in the establishment of museums in India.

Sir William John founded the Asiatic Society in India. In 1796, the members of this society recommended a place where perception and preservation of objects made by man and nature could happen.

This idea came true in 1808 at the Park Street, a place given by government. When the first museum came into existence, a lot of people from Britain showed their interest in them. Thus, more museums were established in different parts of India.

It can be concluded that due to the efforts of British government, India has a lot of preserved architecture.
