The contribution of folklore, folk songs and paintings in strengthening nationalism during 1870 are as follows;

i) Perception of Bharat Mata: The identification of the country was symbolized in an illustration. Rabindranath portrayed the important concept of Bharat-Mata. Commitment to this mother personage came to be regarded as evidence of one’s patriotism.

(ii) Folklore: Nationalists vacationed communities to associate folk fictions. These fictions presented a true understanding of one’s ethnic status and assisted in restoring a feeling of pride in one’s history.

(iii) Icon and Symbols: Nationalist leaders accepted icons and figures to strengthen the people and formulate in them a consciousness of nationalism.
