Orientalists:
They were the people who had a sound knowledge of the language and culture of Asia. They favoured the development of Sanskrit and Persian languages in India as the medium of instructions.

Anglicists: orientalists were opposed by the anglicists. The anglicists emphasised upon english to be the medium of instructions.
Example :James Mill, Thomas Babington Macaulay, Raja Rammohun Roy.

Orientelist were in favour of vernacular language as a medium of instruction whereas anglisist were in favour of English language as a medium of instruction
