National Education policy

The national policy on Education is a policy that is formulated by the "Government of India". The basic reason for the policy is to promote education among the people of India. The government under this policy covers the education from the elementary level to colleges in both rural as well as urban India. The first such policy was formulated in "1968" by the Indian government during the Indira Gandhi era. All the education boards that we see in India including ICSCE and CBSE are based on the National Policy on Education itself.
